Carrying cases » Royal 50
These are the two cases for the Royal 50 shirt pocket transistors made in the early 60’s. The one on the left was also used for the Royal 40, 60, 90 and 125 shirt pocket radios. Most of these have bit the dust because the hinge point is by the large tuning dial where there is the least amount of material. Also, these were made of a synthetic leather or “leatherette” material which greatly shortened their life. Most are hard and brittle and missing their tops when found today.
The one on the right is for the last Royal 50 Model L. It is a better design but still made of leatherette. 40

Hi, just checking to see if you have a complete case that is intact for a royal 50 that would possibly be for sale.
If so, what would be total cost of it. Thank you.

Hi Mark,
I hope you are enjoying the Royal 50 radio you bought from me. There is a case available. It has minor crease marks from being opened but is still intact. I suggest that people use these only for display because the synthetic material has become dry and somewhat brittle over the years. Most you will find have the tops broken off.
I offer these cases for $15. If interested, you can send paypal payment to ballgandc@hotmail.com or ask for my address if you don’t use paypal.
Thanks, Gary
