Here is an excellent example of the popular Zenith Royal 500H. This complete set comes in its own hinged deluxe leather presentation case with brass accessories and red velvet lining inside. The box is in nice clean condition with no splits, stains, or smells, only light signs of wear around the edges. The original extras include the earphone, case, operating guide, and battery box.
The Zenith Royal 500H was the most technologically advanced radio of its day, and is still considered by collectors to be the finest sounding radio of its size. The innovative 3″ X 5″ extended range speaker produces a rich tone quality. Tuning is easy with the gear reduced Vernier tuner. It measures 3.5″ wide, 6″ tall, and 1.75″ deep and weighs 18 ounces. The radio was offered in two-tone grey, black, or white. It’s introductory price in 1961 was $59.95. It operates on 4 AA batteries.
The radio is in above average cosmetic condition with only one small chip at a top corner as shown. The radio’s eight transistor chassis is all original and in fine playing condition. Sounds great across the AM dial, just as you would expect from this famous model. The Vernier tuning really helps to show off just how sensitive this receiver is. It is powered by 4 AA batteries.
