Offered here is a nice Tan Zenith Royal 50K. In 1962, Zenith continued their restyled Royal 50H as the 50K. It looks just like their earlier 50H except the volume knob is always white on a K. This was offered in Black, White, Red, Charcoal or Tan like this one. It is compact in size at only 2 ½” wide and 4” tall and weighs only 7.7 ounces, but the six transistor chassis puts out an impressive 135 milliwatts of clear rich tone and operates on two common AA batteries. The cost new was reduced to from $26.95 in 1961 to only $19.95 in 1962 for virtually the same radio due to fierce competition from Asia.
The Tan version offered here has a sharp look and great performance. Clean in and out, this radio is all original and playing great. A nice bonus is the quality label on the back. When tested, it performed well and is quite sensitive. Have a close look and listen below:
