Offered here is a nice Zenith Royal 50L model from 1962 in the scarce turquoise color. In 1962, Zenith restyled their popular new shirt pocket radio adding a stylish reverse painted tuning window and a protected tuning knob. These were offered in Black or Yellow with a gold grill, or Red or Turquoise with a silver grill. Compact in size at only 2 ½” wide and 4” tall, it weighs only 7.7 ounces, but the six transistor chassis puts out an impressive 135 milliwatts of clear rich tone and operates on two common AA batteries. The suggested retail price back in 1962 was a bargain at $19.95.
This radio is in excellent cosmetic condition and when tested it played fantastic. Very sensitive and clean in and out. Normal wear to the coin slot.
