The Royal 710 was introduced late in 1959 and was produced through 1961. Those came in a light saddle brown colored Permawear cabinet. Then in 1962 they continued the model with this brown charcoal cabinet and changed the grill to a chromium-plated one.
Offered here is a nice example of what I believe is the most under-rated of the Zenith lunchbox portables. True, it does have that Permawear cover, but inside, there is a beefed up 7GT43Z1 chassis putting out 500 MW of powerful rich sound on 4 “C” batteries. This one has a cabinet that has been preserved pretty well. Missing the bright on the volume knob.
