  1. Did this model only run on 8 – D cell batteries?
    Was there not an electric plug-in power source for in-home use?

    1. Hi Richard and thanks for your question. The Royal 2000 came in two versions: First was the Royal 2000 introduced in 1959. That was followed by the Royal 2000-1 which did have the addition of the AC adapter port on the side. Gary

  2. I just bought 2 of the 2000. One was for parts. I used it to complete the second one. Neither has the power adapter port on the side. This Royal 2000 is super sensitive. I picked up Rochester NY last night. That is 375 miles from me.
