Thanks Doug. I agree. I have one on my credenza in my office that gets played almost daily. It is my go to FM radio because of the deep rich sound it produces and its sensitivity. Thanks for posting your thoughts. Gary
Hi Richard and thanks for your question. The Royal 2000 came in two versions: First was the Royal 2000 introduced in 1959. That was followed by the Royal 2000-1 which did have the addition of the AC adapter port on the side. Gary
I just bought 2 of the 2000. One was for parts. I used it to complete the second one. Neither has the power adapter port on the side. This Royal 2000 is super sensitive. I picked up Rochester NY last night. That is 375 miles from me.

Was there not an electric plug-in power source for in-home use?
