Here is a beautiful red example of the very first transistor radio made. To own the TR-1 is the goal of every collector, and here is a nice one. The fragile plastic cabinet has avoided the normal cracks, and only blemish is a chip on the right side from the tab.
Inside is an early chassis that is all original. The serial number is 18,970 and the date on the tuning capacitor is 447 or the 47th week of 1954. This radio comes complete with a rare Minicam brand vintage 22.5 volt battery (dead of course) to round out the display. The radio is untested but believed to be non-playing.
